With the winter here its officially stay the hell inside season. This means being confined in your home with the kids more than the usual. I say that as though I don’t enjoy it, the truth is I love WINTER and I love every single minute I get to snuggle up with my kids. One of our favourite things to do during this season is watch a good winter movie. As much as adults hate to admit It, we love family films especially a Disney. Sometimes I wonder if I am putting the film on for them or for me! Anywho, whilst I have kids, I will be one and indulge in their activities. So, the question is, what are the best movies out there to watch with the kids whilst it’s cold outside. I have put together a list of 6 cosy winter movies to watch with the kids. Grab your blanket, snacks and gather the kids around and get ready for winter movie inspiration, there’ s bound to be something you all agree on. Good luck.

Top movies the kids will want to watch on repeat

Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch

Oh the sweet return of the famous Christmas killjoy. I don’t know what it is about this winter movie, but my little weasel is Grinch obsessed. Jim carry played the last main character and to be honest you can’t beat a bit of his humour. They recently re-made this film but an animated version. The unloved green monster takes a turn and attempts to impersonate Santa. If you didn’t get to watch this over Christmas go check it out.

The Greatest Showman

Another personal favourite within our family. The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business & tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Ice age

All I think about when I think of Ice age Is that poor squirrel who is forever trying to catch his nut. I never thought the simplicity of something like this could make me laugh so much but it did. This winter movie is a solid choice for kids old enough to handle the cartoonish violence, but I guess this boils down to the parental guidance etc. An overall funny and imaginative winter movie, add it to the list.

Madagascar collection

If you want the family around the  TV exercising their best muscles, their smiles, this is the one, it is guaranteed to make you chuckle. There’s something very interesting and unique about this storyline. Institutionalised zoo animals being thrown into the wild habitat, interesting right!

Now, if you haven’t watched this you are missing out and even if you haven’t watched it, I’m sure your kids at one time or another were signing the hit songs around the house, I personally couldn’t escape it.  This winter movie is based on an enchanted tale that will suck you in…. a winner. It is based on two sisters and their kingdom. It becomes trapped in a perpetual winter spell that effects everyone. Nothing breaks a sister’s bond easily as proven in this film. There’s music, humour and characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
